The hallway felt suddenly too narrow.
“Tell me you didn’t humiliate that girl.”
“I didn’t humiliate her,” he said. “I showed everyone what she really is. A girl who can be bought.”
My stomach turned.
“You knew I contacted her.”
“Of course I knew.”
“How?”
He smiled.
“Because I made sure you would.”
I stared at him.
“The bullying,” I whispered. “Everything you told me…”
“It worked, didn’t it?” he said. “You felt guilty. You always do. So you paid for the dress, the makeup, the car. You handed her to me.”
