Chapter 8: Eleven Minutes
Days later, the ocean looked the same.
Endless. Beautiful. Indifferent.
No one passing that stretch of water would ever know what had almost been lost there.
But Daniel knew.
For eleven minutes, the ocean had taken everything from sight.
His daughter.
His hope.
His reason to keep moving forward.
But it hadn’t taken them.
Because when she fell—
He followed.
And sometimes, that is the only thing that matters.
A child fell.
Her father went after her.
The ocean tried to keep them.
It failed.
