Chapter 1: A Simple Decision That Didn’t Feel Important
I installed the camera for one simple reason.
To help my wife sleep.
After our son Noah was born, Lily barely rested. Nights blurred into mornings, and her body still carried the pain of the C-section. The tiredness in her eyes was no longer ordinary exhaustion. It looked like something inside her was fading quietly.
Noah had also started waking in strange ways. Sudden cries. Restless stretches. Nothing regular. Nothing we could explain.
So I told myself the camera was practical.
Something small. Something responsible. Something a good husband would do when he couldn’t be home enough.
I thought it would give Lily peace.
I never imagined it would show me the truth I had been living beside and failing to see.
